Wind Ensemble

The Wind Ensemble at South Forsyth High School features the finest musicians in the South Forsyth band program. The Wind Ensemble is the most advanced level ensemble at South Forsyth and plays grade six literature and master works from the band repertoire. The Wind Ensemble is on par with many college level bands and is known throughout the state for their consistent and high level performance.

Members of the Wind Ensemble will perform three school concerts a year and participate in GMEA Large Group Performance Evaluation (LGPE) band contests and outside musical opportunities when they present themselves. At Large Group Performance Evaluation in March, the students consistently earned straight superior ratings for their performance.


 


Symphonic Band 

Conductors:   Ross Amend

TheSymphonic Band is the second of three wind bands at South Forsyth High School.  The Symphonic Band meets 4 days during the school week all year and is populated by mostly 10th, 11th and 12th grade students.  The Symphonic Band focuses on refining instrumental playing skills and performing quality music literature of a higher difficulty level.

Concert Band

TheConcert Band is the third of three wind bands at South Forsyth High School. TheConcert Band is the entry level band at South Forsyth High School.
